Yeah, I couldn’t figure out why they would possibly even think of running a commercial about it all. Something like that is just bound to flop. Silence on their part would have been a better strategy, right? After a few games (or tournaments… whatever those golf things are called… can you tell I’m not a fan???) his transgressions would have blown over. Now they’ve just made it all last longer.

My prediction, however, is that a serial cheater like Tiger won’t be able to keep it in his pants for long. I suppose he might be a bit more discrete about it all, but I think there’s going to be more news on that front eventually.

Alix, it’s definitely a different way of looking at things, I just tend to wonder where they got the audio from and I’m guessing they didn’t have the senior Woods’ permission to use it posthumously in this or any way.

You know I was very disgusted at Tiger’s behavior and thought this was his way toapologize to his father for desecrating his memory and good name. Do you think that makes sense?

Hummm…. but have they done a study of the marriages of the actresses who lost? Are they just as likely to break up? It seems like Hollywood in general has a very high 1) divorce rate 2) cheating spouse rate. I tend more toward the conclusions that Elizabeth Gilbert made in Committed: some people are monogamous. Some are not. I don’t think a bad marriage necessarily drives people to cheat. Plenty of really unhappy people stay loyal (I was one of them). But it is interesting. There are plenty of examples. Then again, the wives of these actors might be cheating, too. They might just be better at covering their tracks….

That last sentence is just so beautifully put. It’s like that movie of some year’s back ‘Too Beautiful For You,’ when he had perfection he went in search of the ordinary. Color me corny, but I was really rooting for her to have found ‘the one’

I don’t know if there’s a “curse” though the statistics might lend a little credence to that theory.

It does, however, make one wonder just what it is that people — men in particular — want. Obviously, each of the individual cases are different and we don’t know all of what goes on between these couples but …

Why isn’t a talented, beautiful, smart woman who at least seems to also be a really good person AND who happens to have more wealth than any 20 people put together NOT ENOUGH?
