Step Away From The Pantsuit

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton‘s visit to Afghanistan may have been unexpected, but her working wardrobe seems to be right on track.  Mrs. Clinton arrived garbed in a fabulous native inspired flowing robe with intricate embroidery.

I know that I should be more concerned with the issues addressed, but all I could focus on was the brilliance of both her smile and her fabulous coat.

It can be hard to get your work wardrobe to work well in any environment, and I love the juxtaposition of the three main figures in the photo.  U.S. commander Stanley A. McChrystal clad in combat fatigues, Mrs. Clinton in her coat of many colors and U.S. Ambassador Karl Eikenberry in a classic suit and tie combo. For me it epitomizes the essence of Career and Corporate Cool™, each one visually expressing their duties and responsibilities through their clothing choices.
